About The Artist
Since childhood, after seeing my grandfather's, and other's forges in operation, I have had an interest in metalwork. Without formal training, I tinkered around; taking raw material and exploring it's character. Heating it, and reshaping it, bending it adding to it or taking away. watching the colors seeing warmth and beauty in something that can be cold and hard, knowing it can be transformed and trying to figure out how. While in high school I took advantage of opportunities to learn about welding, casting, and basic forming and sheet metal work. During this time took my first step into metal sculpture. Around the same time I also branched out to explore other forms of artistic expression such as Ceramics, Drawing, painting, commercial art, and photography.
Fast forward about twenty years...
After a considerable hiatus from metalwork, I managed to acquire some metal working tools and welding equipment (including my grandfather's anvil and torch) to use while restoring a 1953 Pickup. Between different phases on the truck, I picked the torch back up and using some of the leftover scrap made a few artistic pieces for family and friends. Since then, they, and many others have encouraged me to continue with my art.
My creative process varies from piece to piece. In some cases, I am inspired by activities and events in my life, things I would like to do, places I've been and things I've seen. Some are inspired by others who have a vision, but not the means. Sometimes I just sit down at an empty table, with or without an idea in mind, take a look at the materials on hand at the moment, see how they are willing to be transformed, and go from there.

BBC
Many of the signed pieces, especially the smaller ones, are signed simply with BBC. While those aren't my real initials, they are the ones I have used for quite some time. They come from a nickname I was given many years ago - Beatle Bob.
Music has been a large part of my life. As a youngster I had a handfull of favorite songs that I heard on the radio. As I got older, I found out the name of the artists. As I investigated other works they had created, I discovered that each of the artists that created this music were once a part of a band. Not only that, but as it turned out, they were all a part of the SAME band - The Beatles.

The Art
All metal sculptures represented are individually handcrafted and will vary in size, shape and color. Please note that due to the handmade nature of these items and availability of materials, minor differences may exist between pieces. Made from recycled materials, each metal sculpture possesses distinct markings which are inherent in the metals that enhance the individuality of each piece.
